maybe...by randomaxes

an old twisted used up olive tree in kusadasi, turkey.

it kinda caught my attention as it appeared on this lanscape alone, lonely.

it provides no shade, no fruit, no apparent physical benefit.

obviously, someone consciously spared it's life;

maybe, out of respect for the ages and turmoil and countless weather-beaten years it has survived.

maybe, it's tireless beauty was considered an endless fruit, just as it's once fruitful branches.

maybe, enough of it's brethren have been torn down to make way for storefronts of useless trinket mongers.

maybe, it's protected and just plain ol' illegal to cut off it's life :)

Nice photo of a very nice tree...And the comment matches it too and really gets me thinking that everything happens for a reason...just like why was this one, delapidated tree spared over all the others :hmm:

...and yes, there's always a reason.
sometimes it's romantic, and sometimes it's just pure logic.

yes, i completely agree.
i'm not a tree hugger, they do have their uses.
however, they need to be managed very carefully because they are very important to our existence.
and right now, we are tearing them down as if they don't matter at all.
just for short term money...greed.

i try to plant at least one tree a year.
hopfully, where i plant they don't build a parking lot.
so far, i've planted 11.

yeah, they are very important. the people of today have become greedy, arrogant, and irrational.
